For this, I simply wanted a full-body drawing of Kaejaris wearing this outfit. In the original pose reference, the model was holding a katana. I thought Kae should be holding something too and, given his clothing and surroundings, I decided on a pen in a Memphis Milano style. Indeed, the background itself is based on the Espirit Showrooms in Germany circa 1985, designed by Memphis Milano founder Ettore Sottsass.
